Another fun and exciting day at Camp Merri-Mac is in the books! 3B has been in full swing for a few days now, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. This morning we woke up to a yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes, and biscuits! Then it was off to chapel where we learned how God invites us into his family from Ellen R. After some free time, it was time to get busy with activities! In pottery, we’ve been seeing the girls excel on the wheel, which takes a good bit of practice. Our younger girls also got to incorporate nature into their pieces by pressing leaves into the clay and seeing how it imprints! We can’t wait to see how these turn out! In cooking today, campers got to make brownie waffles with ice cream, which was definitely the highlight of my morning! After having a bite, I headed down to Lake Doris to see what was going on with our waterfront activities! In kayaking, girls were racing to the middle of the lake and back, and in canoeing they were using teamwork to make it all the way around the lake! After a busy morning of activities, it was time for lunch! We had a camp favorite of corn dog nuggets and mac and cheese! Then it was back to cabins for some well deserved rest time! With afternoon activities, we saw horseback riding take a ride around camp and our PAWS class walking the dogs! It’s so much fun seeing the animals at camp! In backpacking, girls were learning how to filter their own water, which is such a fun skill to have! Watching girls learn skills for the first time is such a rewarding part of being a counselor! With the third session being at the halfway point, we have girls trying to earn their gold bars in activities, and it’s great to see them earn it after putting in so much work! Tonight’s evening activity is Inferno, which is a tribal activity where you try to put other teams’ fires out! I can’t wait to see who wins!
