It’s a Merri day Merri-Mac! Although we didn’t have the prettiest weather here it didn’t stop us from singing, dancing, and continuing to grow through friendship and adventure! Unfortunately, today’s bike trip had to be rescheduled for a later date due to the yucky rain. However, we have an exciting two-night backpacking trip leaving tomorrow with several of our girls in Upper camp. Even though today was rainy our girls embraced it and we’re grateful for the break from the Summer heat.

The kitchen staff blew us away today with a killer line up of yummy french toast and sausage. Later in Chapel, we had another True Story With Adam Boyd. We read out of Hebrews 4:12-13: “For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart. No creature is hidden from Him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.” This was a wonderful reminder that God directly talks to us and in order to have a relationship with the real God, we must go to Him with a heart of worship.

After worship, Up Yonder had a blast at Airsoft this morning while trying their best not to shoot our nice photographer and later played with the cute pups at PAWS as the rest of the camp had an amazing morning as well.

We recharged at lunch with burgers and curly fries and celebrated Caroline R.‘s birthday with a big camp Merri-Mac style birthday song and a cookie cake. Breaking out of lunch and the joyous hoopla, campers went to their afternoon activities including Fencing, Climbing, and everyone’s favorite Kayaking. Finally at dinner, when we thought it couldn’t get any better we had a delicious sausage pasta and cheese rolls galore. Tonight’s evening activities are battle ball and EXTREME bingo for lower camp and the dearly beloved gold rush for upper camp. With only TEN more days remaining of camp we have almost made it through an amazing summer 100% COVID-19 free. The girls have done a great job wearing their buffs and spraying in and out of all buildings. Even with the buffs up you can see how many girls are beaming with cheer in their cabins, activities, and even just walking from class to class! We are so thankful for each and every girl that has passed through our gate this summer. Thank you for sharing your daughters with us during this summer of flexibility.
