Goooood morning, Camp Merri-Mac!

The sun was shining as Reveille played throughout camp on this beautiful Wednesday morning! Girls started their day with a quick cabin cleanup and a delicious breakfast of french toast, sausage, and fresh fruit, a camp favorite. From there, we went to chapel where Darby Anne K. addressed the question, “Who is Jesus?”

Down the hill during first period, girls in DIY made macrame wall hangings, while others in pottery worked on their fairy houses or learned how to make a bowl on the pottery wheel. Trista R. made a beautiful bowl on her first try!  Up at Lake Doris, kayaking class put on skirts for the first time and practiced a wet-exit with a skirt on! They also worked on their forward and backward strokes.

For lunch, everyone enjoyed a camp classic, mini corn dogs and mac-n-cheese! We concluded lunch by singing tribal songs and learning from counselor Molly Kathryn C. that tonight half of the camp would be playing counselor hunt while the other half had Cabin Night!! With full bellies we headed up to rest time, which was followed by trading post (snack time) and free time.

This afternoon in diving class with counselor Hunter S., Annie B. earned her silver bar! Up the hill in climbing, girls got to climb the upper tower for the first time, which was very exciting for everyone involved. After third and fourth periods and a brief rain shower, girls headed to the Tucker Inn for dinner. We had a camp favorite for dessert…S’MORE POCKETS!! As I write this lower camp girls are enjoying quality bonding time with their cabins and upper camp girls are searching high and low for their counselors! It has been a fun day here at camp, and I’m sure your girls will sleep great tonight:)

In Christ,
