It has been a tradition for our eldest campers, to give suns to their beloved friends and counselors. The girls hand them out at Final Camp Fire, as a token of their gratitude and affection to them. Girls will reminisce on camp memories, funny times and even hard times and things they love about the individual.  These sweet suns are carefully cut out, glued, decorated and written on and are kept by their recipients for the years to come.  One Sunnysider, in particular, gave a sun to our Directors

“Adam and Ann,

I will never be able to thank you enough for all that you do. Camp Merri-Mac is such a special place to me, and I will forever hold it close to my heart. You guys go above and beyond to make camp an incredible place for everyone. Camp has taught me so many things, and I am so thankful for all of the amazing experiences and opportunities it has given me. Camp has truly taught me to step out of my comfort zone and has helped me to become a better version of myself. The love that all of the counselors give to each camper is amazing. It’s such a good feeling to know how safe and cared for we all are here at camp. Camp has always been what I look forward to the most each year and that’s all thanks to you guys! Merri-Mac is truly a second home to me, and it has given me so many memories that I will never forget. I’ve made friends here that will last me a lifetime, and I’ve grown so much closer to God. It’s so amazing to be able to come to Merri-Mac each year and share your love of camp and God with all of your friends, I’m blessed to have Merri-Mac in my life, and I thank God for all the people that make it happen. So thank you again for all you do because I would never get these amazing opportunities to grow! Thank you so much!

With love,

Riley C.”
