Today at Camp Merri-Mac was peaceful, and yet, still so full of joy. My favorite part of the day, which also sums up the day, was watching your girls run in the pouring rain for Trading Post after rest hour. It was a sight to see! It was a tender reminder of the playful and joyful character of the Lord. Your girls shine so brightly here!

The most important meal of the day was a camp favorite, baked oatmeal and coffee cake! For the counselors who are on their third cup of coffee, coffee cake is always a treat. Lunch was pizza and veggies with an optional salad bar. Dinner was stir fry, egg rolls, and edamame. Mealtime was very educational tonight for my Moonmist girls who learned what the difference between a wanton and an egg roll.

The sweetest part of my day, chapel, was led my the one and only Miranda A. this morning. We read Psalm 51:10-12 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” We were reminded this morning of how our Savior Jesus Christ makes our hearts new. Sometimes that process is messy and painful, but the end result is being closer to God and feeling His wondrous presence.

While the rest of us went to classes, per usual, camp had two water skiing trips go out today (one in the morning and one in the afternoon). A climbing group also went out for an all day climbing exertion. There are plenty of pictures being uploaded as I type from today’s activities. I always remind the girls who do not like their picture taken that this is for your parents so they know that you are alive! I usually get a giggle or two. What a joy it is to serve and take care of your children! They miss you and love you a whole lot. Your emails and letters are the highlight of their day.

In Christ,
