MERRI CHRISTMAS!!

There is nothing like waking up to Krispy Kreme donuts and hot chocolate with Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is You” playing all throughout camp. That is exactly how your girls were awoken this morning with big smiles and messy hair, because it was Christmas day at Camp Merri-Mac! We got to sleep in (well, most of us… cough, cough Moonmist) and snuggle up together to enjoy a long morning before chapel.

The girls enjoyed singing Christmas hymns and celebrating the birth of Jesus in the middle of July. We were reminded this morning, by Maddy M., of the character of our Savior Jesus Christ; He is our rock and foundation. We read 1 Peter 2:6-7, “ For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

We had an all day rafting trip, a canoeing trip, and an afternoon water skiing trip go out today as the rest of the girls went to their usual classes. Lunch was meatball subs and waffle fries with an optional salad bar and health bar. Dinner we had a classic Christmas meal of turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, and peas. Christmas songs were sung throughout each meal and we celebrated several birthdays, one being our very own Adam Boyd’s 50th birthday!! He received several old man jokes, don’t worry, he was not spared in the midst of the Christmas cheer.

Currently, the girls are dressed in their Christmas attire and laughing their heads off at Christmas Vespers and seeing along with Black Mountains Oysters Christmas edition. Today has been a very fun day and it is always a joy to see their beautiful smiles in classes or being silly together during free time. Check out the pictures of your darling daughters on the website/Facebook. Your daughters are being loved on and taken care of! And forewarning, I was informed of some lengthy Christmas lists today. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

In Christ,
