‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the camp

Not a creature was stirring, not even an ant.

The stockings were hung from their bed bunks with care,

In hopes that the truck full of treats soon would be there.

The campers all snuggled alone in their beds,

While dreams of counselor caroling ran through their heads.

And I, in my hammock, and others in fleece,

Had just settled our brains for a long night of peace.

That’s right, today was a beautiful sunny day to celebrated Christmas Eve at Camp Merri-Mac!  After lunch, clouds appeared while campers and staff alike crossed their fingers in activities, dreaming about a white Christmas.  Although the very brief rain shower was nothing like the snow we used to know, the rain did not stop campers from having fun and excelling in their activities to achieve several bars.

Milly M. shot her way to a bronze in archery.  Emily J. in riflery, Alex P. in climbing, and Hailey H. in guitar all received their bronze bars in their respective activities.  Remy S., Ramey S., Everly H., and Claire D. all performed outstanding, earning their bronze in drama.  In lacrosse, Kristie G., Caroline M., Taylor U., and Melanie G. all attained their bronze bars.  Both Holly H. and Melony G. received their bronze in tennis.  And after hosting her very own tournament, Julia M. was the very first camper of the summer to earn her PLATNUM in volleyball!

The evening was full of crafting and singing, continuing a cherished Merri-Mac tradition.  Every girl made a special gift for their “secret santa” as their counselors caroled around camp dressed in Christmas attire with candle in hand.  Now, as girls all over camp snuggle in their bunks full of anticipation of all the celebrating that is to come tomorrow, Merry Christmas to all friends and family, and to all a good-night!
