By
limiting our enrollment to just 200 girls at Merri-Mac and 90 boys at
Timberlake we are able to be extremely selective in choosing our staff.
We do this because we feel strongly that the counselors are the most important
part of a great camp. It is their skills that will be the foundation of
safety in our programs; it is their personalities and caring and sense
of adventure that will inspire boys and girls to "reach beyond their
grasp" and try new things; it is their faith and consistency that
we hope will be fundamental in helping our campers grow. This is why we
believe that the right camp, with the right counselors can be one of the
most important parts of growing up.
That is a lot to expect from a college age young person, and that is
why we place such an emphasis on finding the finest counselors in the
country. Timberlake and Merri-Mac counselors' average age last summer
was twenty two, many of them compete in their sport on a college varsity
level, and a very large percentage began with us as campers. They are
also the most fun filled, outgoing and energetic group of young people
we know of. We hope that they will have the chance to introduce your youngster
to the most fun filled growing experience of his life.
