IMAGE CAPTION - good times at Camp Merri-Mac...

Good Morning All You Merri-Mac Girls!

By now you should have all received an email encouraging you to see the 2006 video we posted. If you did not receive something from us then you might check to be sure we have your correct address. There are great things happening at camp these days, but the biggest news is that Marilyn Z. just agreed to come back on staff this summer. We also enjoyed seeing so many campers at our two most recent Atlanta meetings, one with the Garrison's and Rose's, and the other with Rachel E. We included a great picture from there!

From the Campers:

Cameron L., who has a great picture in the 2006 video, writes to say: "Hey Merri-Mac. I've become immensely distraught about camp!!! I've been doodling little Merri-Mac logos, Choctaw, Seminole, and of course IROQUOIS symbols all over my notes in class. One day my friend looked over at me and eyeballed my precious Merri-Mac logo (it was the same colors and everything!) and seemed to be the most confused person on this earth. The coolest logo I've done thus far has been the Merri-Mac mountains and water with a rainbow over it, because this year I'm going to be in Rainbow. Rainbow girls, I miss you all SOOOOOOO much and I think about you all every night when I fall asleep. Yes, all about ninety of you. It takes me a really long time to go to sleep."

Kelly J. opines, "I miss camp and everyone at camp sooo much! I called all of my counselors a week after camp ended! It was really cool to talk to them! (Shout outs to: Katfish, Annie, Katie-o and Holby! I love you guys!) I also want to say hey to all of my cabin and friends in other cabins! This summer was definitely the best one so far! Thanks for making it as amazing as it was. Christmas is coming up again! (haha notice how I say again, because we already had it; remember Christmas in July this summer!? lol) Happy New Years too! One last thing: SEMINOLES ARE GONNA WIN THE BANNER NEXT SUMMER! Luv U Guys!" Nice semi-colon use, Kelly.

Finally, Jennie G. wrote to say, "I made the volleyball team. The season was awesome even though we didn't win. But I was good. I am on a challenge soccer team now. We have won 1 and lost 1. But we are very good. I am on the AB honor roll. I miss camp so much and I can't wait to see them next summer. This time I am going for 5 weeks. I can't wait to be home." There are lots of others who have written so we'll include their notes next time.

From the Staff:

In addition to coming back this summer, Marilyn is also working on designing our new early enrollment charms. The idea is to have a separate charm for each cabin, so girls early enrolling will get their cabin charms. We've also heard from a lot of other counselors who want to come back so we should have some more good news in coming weeks.

Great Camping!

IMAGE CAPTION - Camp pines for you girls!

Good Morning All You Merri-Mac Girls!

Jen just returned from a marathon trip through VA, DC, NY and CT, where she saw lots of Merri-Mac girls, including Maggy B., Alexandra H., Madeline M., McKay U., Andera S., Emily M., Mary Beth L., Kaila and Gahr L., MacRae K., Sarah Harvey L., Emma T., and, way up in Darian, CT., Lee B. It was quite a trip and we're glad to have Jen back! Adam is leaving tomorrow for a quick three days in Atlanta where he'll see Merrill G., Emily and Caroline R., and a Timberlaker or two. Seeing our campers is one of our favorite winter things to do so we hope some of you will be able to join us for our upcoming meetings.

What We've Heard:

Becca S. wrote to say, "Hey ya'll! Life's been pretty super awesome (and crazy!) lately. I'm super excited since I'm going to see Sara Kay (skayyyy) soon, and she's amazing and I love love love her (as I do all of you too!) I hope all of you are having fun and being safe. I cannot wait to see ya'll at camp (holla SUNNYSIDE '07) and once again, I'd like to mention the whole thing about preparing for some Seminole domination, since we will be winning the banner next year, rest assured.

Chelsea D. says, "Hi everyone! I am missing camp so much right now and I am so excited to be in Sunnyside this year!!! Well, my business is keeping me occupied. www.sewpreppy.com opened and I am doing a lot of local shows. Speaking of shows, I am having a Merri-Mac party tomorrow at my house! This will make me even more eager for the summer. Camp is the most amazing experience of my life, and it just keeps getting better every year! Hope all is well with everyone. Hi Adam and Ann! I hope we can come bake cookies with you this year again! Love you all!" Count on it Chelsea!

Madison M. wrote to say, "Hey Guys! 7th grade is awesome! I miss camp so much!! I can't wait to come back!"

Finally, Laine P. writes, "School is great but I still miss camp so much. I have talked to most of the second session girls, if I haven't just e-mail me, lol. One day I was talking to my friends and I said something about the Seminoles winning the banner, woot woot, and she looked at me like I was crazy. Then I couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the day. That should tell you that I love you all and miss you."

From The Staff

Rebecca C. writes: "Hey ladies! I am at Georgia Tech and loving it! I miss camp and Asheville! I hope everyone is having an awesome year. Love you all! -PD, Prairie Dawn, Rebecca, whatever you call me." Also, Jamie M. wrote to say, "Hey Guys! Happy Thanksgiving!! A few weeks ago I was at Mt. Music up there in Old Fort and I saw the Motley Sisters playing their fiddles!! I guess all that hard work at camp really did pay off! Hope all is well!!"

We'd love to hear from you too. Just click on "what's new" and let us know what you're up to.

Great Camping!"

IMAGE CAPTION - The good old days at Merri-Mac!

Dear Merri-Mac,

Jen is in VA, MD, NY and CT, Dan is in FL, and Louis is about to leave for Memphis. We're all pretty busy meeting new camp families! Adam and Ann are holding down the fort at camp, and spending a lot of time hiring staff. So the returning Merri-Mac Staff are: Jan Bellows, Lindsay Brasington, Emily Cornelius, Lennon Dodson, Melanie Forbes, Anne Foreman, Emily Garner, Nurse Sarette, Brittany Hogan, Sarah Hord, Emily Johnson, Kelsey Johnson, Elendea King, Leslie Loughran. Nurse Dana, Ann McShane, Ericka Newell, Megan O'Brien, Nurse Jill, Nurse Donna, Paige Porter, Leah Rang, Katy Robb, Nurse Deb, Kathryn Salmon, Janie Southard, Nurse Diana, Sierra Ulrich, Nurse Meredith and Hillary Gibbs. Of course there are lots of others who have not committed yet, so do not worry if your favorite counselor is not here; we haven't given up!

We're not through hiring CIT's and KG's yet, but we've hired a lot and will give you those names next week.

From the Campers:

Victoria R. writes: "Hey Guys. I miss you like crazy. My homecoming was awesome. We won our homecoming game and now we're going to regionals. I recently just had a Junior seminar. You know for senior year and also for college. Y'all it is so scary knowing that it is right there. If I can give you any advice, to the younger girls, plan ahead so you dont have to worry like me. But still have fun. But that's what camp is for. Love and miss you." Grace R. writes: "Hey all! I'm having lots of fun rowing and such, but missing camp lots! Can't wait till SUNNYSIDE '07!!" Carina D. writes: " Hey everybody! Seventh grade is awsome this year, and I'm in honors math!! Anyway I just have to say three important things: I miss camp so much, I can't wait to come back and the best tribe in the world....SEMINOLES are going to win the banner."

We would also like to hear from you, so drop us a line using the "what's new" link. Be sure to include your name. It is tough to figure it out otherwise.

We're looking forward to having all our Merri-Mac girls back next summer. Merri and Mac miss you all too. They keep walking around camp looking for the campers.

Great Camping!
