FAQ: ECamp
ECamp is a separate company that specializes in online community tools for summer camps. We have partnered with ECamp to provide one-way email, newsletters and photos to our parents during the summer and to campers when they return home. How
do I get set up on ECamp?
How do I send Email to my camper? Once logged in to the ECamp site, click the "Email" navigation button on the left. You will be prompted to purchase a package of Email before you are allowed to send a message. Once an email package is selected, simply fill out the email forms and click submit. When will my E-Mail be delivered? Each morning, between 4 and
6 a.m. the campers' E-Mail is sent to us at the camp. The E-Mails are
printed out and put with the days' mail, which is delivered each day before
dinner. What happens to E-Mail sent during the last 24 hours of a session? Please do not send E-Mails during the last 24 hours your child is at camp! E-Mails sent in the last 24 hours of a session will not be given to your camper until they check out. Normally, E-Mail is printed out every morning and handed out before dinner at mail call, but on closing day this would occur after your camper had already checked out! Because of this, we make every effort to place E-Mails sent in the last 24 hours in the check out folder you receive before leaving. Help us by not sending emails during the last 24 hours, though! Can I E-Mail the camp office and have the office forward the message to my child? No. Due to the large volume of E-Mails sent on a daily basis, we can only deliver E-Mails sent through our provider, ECamp. If you would like to set up an account with ECamp to send E-Mails, please read "How do I set up an ECamp account?" How do I view the Camp Newsletter? To be able to read the daily Newsletter, you must register with ECamp. Newsletters appear automatically on the first page of our ECamp site, and older newsletters can be accessed by clicking on the "News Archives" link on the navigation menu. The account creation process is outlined in "How do I set up an ECamp account?" The photos are uploaded each day. To view the photos:
Once logged in with the password
you may view the photos, click on them to view larger versions of them,
and purchase prints of the photos. Each day a different counselor at Merri-Mac and Timberlake takes the digital cameras around camp and takes photos. After the evening activity, and once the campers are in bed, the counselors return the camera and the images are transferred to our computer server. During the night, the photos are uploaded to the Internet site to be viewed. There is less than a 12 hour turn around from when the cameras are returned and when they are viewable and able to be purchased. Why haven't I seen my camper's photo? The counselors try to take as many quality photographs of as many campers as is possible. But, due to the number of campers and the limitations of the camp, we cannot guarantee that any particular child will be photographed during the course of the Summer.
